The math sections of the PSAT/NMSQT and of the PSAT 10 require knowledge of arithmetic; algebra and functions, geometry and measurement; data analysis, statistics, and probability. You can find more details about the test in the official PSAT math webpage.
The 70-minute math sections has 48 multiple choice and student-produced question. Multiple Choice questions ask you to find which is the best of the five choices given. Student-produced questions require you to solve a problem and enter your answer. Although most of the questions on the Math Test are multiple choice, a percentage of the questions — from 17 percent to 22 percent, depending on the assessment — are student-produced response questions.
